Using its own staff, Soleterre intervenes to improve medical treatments and support patients hospitalised in the two wards, and their families, providing food, psychological support, rehabilitation and medical supplies. In particular, the project involves the provision of the following services:

• supplementation of food
• psychological assistance through the creation and support of a team of psychologists, art therapists and professional educators, thus ensuring continued psychological assistance to patients and their families
• recreational and educational activities
• improvement of the surroundings, with the provision of sheets, curtains, pillows and consumable materials, so as to make the structure as welcoming and colourful as possible, in contrast to all the difficulties of their stay in hospital
• supply of some of the medical equipment needed and the periodical supply of consumable medical materials (gloves, masks, syringes, etc.) which the families would otherwise have to pay for
• creation of a centre next to the hospital to provide psychological and legal support for adolescents and parents of patients staying on the paediatric oncology and neurology wards, and set up of an emergency fund to ensure that patients in financial difficulty receive adequate treatment;
• training and assistance for medical and paramedical staff.
